Rome September 17-24, 2025
Our Middle East and North Africa Federation met in Rome for its Assembly: a location accessible to all of us from our countries at war or in conflict.
Our Father General, Miguel Marquez Calle, helped us greatly to listen to « the Holy Spirit who invites us to dialogue so that we may always walk in truth, seeking to understand others rather than to convince them. It is a path of communion: let us walk together! ».
We had the grace of an audience with Pope Leo XIV. He encouraged us:« What you are doing is important, through your attentive and silent presence in places sadly torn apart by hatred and violence, through your witness of trusting abandonment to God, through your constant invocation for peace.» (read the complete text of the Holy Father’s address).
We offered him an icon written by our sisters in Lebanon.
During the assembly, the following were elected:
Sr. Agathe (Carmel of Jerusalem) President,
Sr. Joséphine (Carmel of Haifa) 1st Councilor
Sr. Maria Virtudes (Carmel of Tangier) 2nd Councilor
Sr. Marie Pierre (Carmel of Athens) 3rd Councilor
