Habemus Papam!

With profound thanksgiving we welcome Pope Leo XIV as Pastor of our Church.

Our Carmelite communities have accompanied intensely with prayer the conclave of this month of May 2025 and, as Daughters of the Church, rejoice for the gift that God makes to his people in the person of Robert Francis Prevost, Pope Leo XIV.

With emotion and a smile, he uttered his first words to offer us the peace of the Risen One: “Peace be with you!”

He invites us to “to build bridges, through dialogue, through encounter, all united to be one people always at peace.”

“We want to be a synodal Church, a Church that walks, a Church that always seeks peace, that always seeks charity, that always seeks to be close especially to those who suffer.”

May Mary, Mother of the Church, accompany our Pope Leo XIV on this new journey!
