Discernment

« To discern what is the will of God,
what is good, what pleases him, that which is perfect. »
(Rm 12,2)

Take time to seek the will of God in your life, to find the strength to undertake with joy and a “determined determination” the ascent of Mount Carmel, the “Way of Perfection”…
We offer you some criteria that will help you discern better, If God calls you to the Vineyard of Carmel:

love for prayer
love for the Word of God
love for the Church
love for the Holy Land
communion with Mary
friendship with our saints
desire to intercede for the world
esteem for solitude and silence
capacity to live in community

To be accompanied

« Did not our heart burn within us as he spoke to us in the way
and he explained Scriptures to us?
»
(Lk 24,32)

He, who loves you and knows you better than yourself,  has a plan for your life. We offer to you the support of our prayer and the opportunity to put you in touch with us in your way of discernment.
You can call us or write us:

To Pray

« I am the handmaid of the Lord, said Mary,
let what you have said be done to me. And the angel left her. »
(Lc 1,38)

Prayer is the privileged place to listen to the voice of God and to give him our response. We carry in our prayer all those who hear God’s call, so that they may have the strength to answer, and also those who have already left everything, so that the fire of his Love in them never goes out.

« Mary, Mother of the «Yes», you listened to Jesus,
and know the tone of his voice and the beating of his heart.
Morning Star, speak to us of him,
and tell us about your journey of following him on the path of faith.

Mary, who dwelt with Jesus in Nazareth,
impress on our lives your sentiments,
your docility, your attentive silence,
and make the Word flourish in genuinely free choices.

Mary, speak to us of Jesus, so that the freshness of our faith
shines in our eyes and warms the heart of those we meet,
as you did when visiting Elizabeth,
who in her old age rejoiced with you for the gift of life.

Mary, Virgin of the Magnificat
help us to bring joy to the world and, as at Cana,
lead every young person involved in service of others
to do only what Jesus will tell them.

Mary, look upon the Agora of youth,
so that the soil of the Italian Church will be fertile.
Pray that Jesus, dead and Risen, is reborn in us,
and transforms us into a night full of light, full of him.

Mary, Our Lady of Loreto, Gate of Heaven,
help us to lift our eyes on high.
We want to see Jesus, to speak with him,
to proclaim his love to all. »

Prayer to ask for vocations for
the Carmels of the Middle East and North Africa

Lord Jesus, you call some of your disciples to follow you
in a totally consecrated life.
We ask you for vocations according to the charisma
of Thérèse of Jesus and John of the Cross,
for the Middle East and North Africa.

Give them the prophetic spirit of Elijah,
Mary’s attentive listening to your Word,
and the fidelity of all these martyrs who give their lives for you.

Prepare our hearts to welcome these new brothers and sisters,
pour out your Spirit on us; that he transforms us so that
we became with them witnesses of your charity in unity.

We ask you this through Mary, Queen and Beauty of Carmel.
Saint Joseph…Saint Mariam…pray for us!
All the Saints of Carmel intercede for us!

(NB: In all our Carmels, we pray this prayer to beg the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his vineyard)
